12/12/12

Our friend Ned passed away in the weekend & his funeral was today. Brent took him for his last ride  on the back of  the 48 ford F3 truck Neddy had lovingly rebuilt over many years. The truck was finished on Friday and sadly Ned passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning.

We have known him for over 25 years and will miss him dearly and yes Brent gave him a good fast ride - That's the way Neddy drove it.

Our friends dog Bonny got to go with her masters final ride too.

  1. It looks like it was a great send off for Ned, how special that you were all able to do that for him. The Ford is a real beauty.
I had thoughts of a 12-12-12-12-12 photo but the moment passed me by.

    1. It was a great send off for Ned. Brent got a warrant on the truck and I got it registered all Monday. HUGE shame Ned never really got to use the truck all finished.

    1. Jean - We felt Ned's presence very much. Bonny cheered up lots being in the truck, she is being looked after by Ned's partner of 28 years - but Bonny was Neds dog and went everywhere with him. She is missing him.

  4. Well done everyone who helped. That was an awesome way to take your last ride Ned. ( and I don't even know you ) I do know about blokes restoring old vehicles and the love and time involved in that work. particularly like the paint job probably not authentic to the age of the vehicle but much snazzier!

    1. Steph referred to the truck as the other woman in Ned's life smile. Brent said the original paint colour was Hawthorn green - Ned painted it a darker green to original.

    1. Yea it was - don't you love how the petals all flew off the back of the truck as Brent put his foot down. He really wound up the truck when on the highway where it was a bit safer. Phew no cops for that little blat. The truck has some grunt as Ned had planned to drag race her.

    1. Bonny went everywhere with Ned - it was the happiest they had seen her for days sitting up in the truck. She did get to see Ned and sat in his coffin to say farewell.
