Barn Tails...

Brent will write about the truck when he has a moment - but it IS getting exciting, as the truck looks like a truck again....

Quilts....
The Abc Baby quilt is rather fun to make. Sorry photos not the best will try in daylight today. I've enjoyed working on the quilt, and love doing blanket stitch on my machine - first time I've really had an opportunity to try out blanket stitch. Bit of a skill going around corners I've found - the old unpicker has been in use.  Abbey is in a bad crash at the moment - so discouraging as we really thought we had nailed the illness. The quilt is enabling me to sit with her and watch re runs of Gilmore Girls. It's hard work keeping the fearful thoughts that pop into your head, eg how long will her employers keep a position for her, how will she manage uni studies. But we squash these fears and remember the '5's' she had and know she is getting better and know that setbacks are a normal part of these illnesses.

Row one finished

I've learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances.

  1. Love that quote...so true and love the quilt so far. I've done machine blanket stitching and yes, it is tricky going around the bends. Where would we be without our unpicker? LOL!

  2. oh...meant to say truck is looking GOOD! I see the geese were inspecting it too...hehe.

{{hugs}} for Abbey. She'll manage. Proabably the excitement of it all has assisted with the crash.

    1. Yea truck is looking good - me still thinks it would look good red - but I've been out voted. SULK!

Nope no reason re crash - the excitement happened way before Christmas when Abbey gave me 2 days notice she had decided to try uni. GULP TWO days of stress, she had to get referee's write at short notice, medical reports, CV and her application essay (which was amazing, she had a really good health wise December but mid January was a huge crash - still in it. SIGH>>>> such a horrible illness.

What a true blessing you don't have to rush out to a 9-5 job, you can just 'be' for Abbey.....that is a gift.

    1. Leeanne - yep I am very lucky Brent is such a good provider and he is happy for me to be a kept woman SMILE. But he does like being looked after too with lunch made etc.. we have very old fashioned roles that work for the both of us.

I'm really looking forward to going on picnics in the truck.
