James and I were not very happy to find the corn has been eaten!
Not happy at all!
We will have the last laugh when we have roast goose on our plates. (Not Geraldine and Gus)
Have I shared how it was NOT one of my better ideas having geese?
Our fences do not keep the geese in paddocks and they happily free range everywhere, including under my washing line - grrrr leaving poop where ever they walk and man they can poop. Geraldine and Gus always stay in the barn yard when its just them.
Baxter is checking out his dinner - Baxter is a tad fussy and has his dad on a bit. - Usually Baxter is a fish only type of guy.
Jack worked out real fast Baxter had arrived and was being really friendly to Baxter until Baxter laughed at Jack for wearing a collar.
Jack gave his family an awful fright and went missing. He was picked up by some folk and taken home to their Bed and Breakfast where he spent the night nice and safe. This is why Jack is now sporting a flash Blue collar with his name and phone number on.
This photo I stole off Jack's families FaceBook. It was sent to his family from a neighbour two streets away from his home - enjoying himself with an afternoon nap on the neighbours bed...
Is Jack a worry or WHAT!
I missed getting the camera started in time - Jack and Baxter playing paws with each other under the door frame. Rosa is enjoying playing catnip chase with Brent.

I agree, apart from horses, geese have the hugest poops I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteA bit like grey/green cow pats!!
Kath - I can understand now why geese are not really "farmed" for commercially. - Not one of my better ideas this is for sure.
DeleteWhat cheeky characters. At least I know Miss Poppy is too shy to be enticed in by neighbours, she doesn't like strangers and would be scared witless.
ReplyDeletePoor lovey - her gooby eye is back again.

Very sad to read Poppy has sore eyes again - must be a horrible bug she has picked up. Yes MandaBurms line was known as characters - sad the line has gone - I do miss raising kittens. But it is lovely seeing them come back for a stay.

Oh dear, are you sure it was the geese that ate the corn, they would have to be very tall to reach?
ReplyDeleteStill either way I'm sure with some gravy the will taste nice! :-/
james is sure - there are no pukekos around, and the geese just walk everywhere they want (our fences are not suitable for geese we have found out) The are pretty tall when they raise up their long necks. I must admit their antics is helping put the distance between ooh you are cute to yep we can have you in the pot.

WOw...those Roast Dinners are getting bigger by the day! Naughty critters whoever ate the corn.... and of course, it's ALWAYS Mr. Nobody that does THAT sort of thing!
ReplyDeleteYep the geese are growing soo fast. It is a worry as we are running out of grass they eat soo much. We don't have to mow lawns but do a poop clean up instead. Not sure how old they have to be to go in pot. Lots to learn!
