Blogging...

I'm home from blog camp and I met some lovely bloggers.
Leanne @ http://yearofcraftingdangerously.blogspot.co.nz/
Madeleine @ http://www.nzecochick.com/
Meghan @ http://www.mnmsadventures.com/
Vicki @ http://www.vegemitevix.com/

My head is spinning of where to go from here in the blog world.-

  • To become a tweeter or not,
  • To get feedly or not
  • To get a whole new blog or not....
  • To stop blogging or not

I've never wanted  to be a "popular" blog always preferred to stay under the radar. But I did find it interesting that google ranks you All you have to do is log into this site and enter your blog address.
A ranking of 3 or 4 is meant to be pretty great in the blog world..

Barn happenings....

While I was away the boys dusted off my old 1938 Morris 8

It was my little car I used everyday to go to work in before kids - I was a bank manager before kids.and one of my bosses didn't think it was a very suitable looking car for a bank manager... My reply was what car are you going to supply me with. SMILE.- Both Brent and I have never been a conformists...

Our minimalist year has been a wonderful experience, but, it has meant Katie car has been dusted off ready to be sold.

FarmStay Guests....

Fred arrived yesterday - he is  a brother to Lordy from a different litter and he is BEAUTIFUL. Fred is here  for 45 days so you will really get to know him.

Beau and Sienna haven't minded having a new guest - I just hope Beau doesn't teach Fred his terrible table manners. Wouldn't it just be awful if when Fred goes home he drags his mince all over the nice clean floor.

Sienna looks like she it sure giving Beau a dressing down at Beau for his mucky eating doesn't she.

    1. Katie car is pretty awesome aye. I thought I was ready to let her go - (I was like this when I was tossing up selling Bugly my VW - I know I drive my family nuts with my tossing and throwing but once I finally make up my mind I am right. The first has been taken and Katie car will be listed for sale soon no doubt.
      I love your bat mobile

  3. Your car is super cute. Hopefully somebody wonderful will fall in love with it.

Our ranking is a 3 - phewww!! Whatever that means.

Leanne, I think that you should keep your blog going and just be true to yourself. Write whatever you want and enjoy it. I find that many of the popular bloggers who have actively searched out more and more readers, and ended up with lots of sponsers, end up with boring blogs and somehow lose the originality of it all. We love what you write and share with us, and feel like we know you and that family. I'm not interested in tweeting or facebook. I don't really care what restaurant people are at or what shop they are in, all a bit false to me.

    1. Katie car is a darling isn't she - lots of great memories in her.

LOL I have to agree ranking means nothing to me it is more who connects, leaves comments make friendships with.

I have come away very frazzled thinking what on earth am I doing. But I know changes are in order as well our lives are changing. I began blogging years ago with homeschool blogger and the content was homeschooling. Now a new direction is happening as it does with life.

Thanks for the encouragement I do wonder what folks want to read on the blog.

    1. I checked your ranking for you it is a 3 - no idea re putting the button on your blog for you. There is soo much to learn in the blogging world. I did feel I was way behind the times in blog world. But it did confirm for me I don't think I want to be up with it all either smile. Gave me quote a sore head smile.

    1. Hi Yes it was a busy day - felt awful getting lost and then needing to go early. I too didn't really get to mingle But it was great that all the blogs were in the notes. Vikki put a lot of work into the day.
It was a great event sent me home spinning. So much to learn and decide of where I want to take blogging. Changes have been forming in my mind. It did push me into a new path and the new blog http://cottagetails.blogspot.co.nz/ will be up and running on the next new moon.

Your folks seem nice and I do want to follow them on their trip.

You do well to grow a lot of your food well done! did you see in this months Organic mag people are keeping quails for eggs in rabbit cages. The eggs looks very cute.

  9. Hi Leanne, thanks for your message, I couldn't reply to you in an email, so I will leave a message here. It was a shame that we didn't get much of a chance to chat at the conference, the day passed so quickly! I was really intrigued to hear that you study naturopathy, it's an area that my sisters are interested in, so I will be sure to mention your blog to them. Thank you for linking to my site, I wanted to check that you would be ok with me linking to your page?

  10. Changes happen, even if we don't plan them, your lovely wee car, so many memories, and your blog, I enjoy it so much every morning, and if your post isn't there, I wonder if all is OK down there. My blog has changed so much from when I started, has new directions, and next year will change all over again, I'm thinking there will be much less time to read and comment, ( as I'll be an adult student!!!) so this will be good for my procrastination mode. Will you still have Mandaburms' blog? What a great time in Wellington, always so good to see a fellow blogger/s and share much together. Greetings to all, Jean.

    1. Jean lots of changes have been happening around here - all good ones too! Homeschooling nearly at the end of the journey GASP into our 16th year of homeschooling... One more to go. New training for me so a new path. Lots of dreams and plans for the future. The New direction is one step towards this new path.

No I won't have Mandaburms bog - one blog is more than enough for me to keep up with so everything will be at Cottage Tails on Blog and facebook.

See you over there. I've still got some housekeeping to do before it is all pretty for visitors.
