After having a virus in the house for a week - we had cabin fever - the study was put aside and I took Abbey out for a birthday lunch (Sadly James and I were both sick on her birthday so we didn't get to do anything)
I had a vegetable stack and carrot cake yum!. Abbey had apricot and chicken filo and a lemon tart yummy special treat.
Harrisons garden is one of my favourite places in the world and they have a sale on at the moment...
(It was their cafe we went to). Will be back this week with James' truck to buy some more fruit trees 25% off is a good thing..
warmest winter on record - and spring just seems to be here (I love spring so I'm over joyed) There is nothing nicer than going out to the garden and foraging for a salad. Edible flowers are abundant including the first nasturtium flowers. Rocket, kale, dandelion leaves, spinach, lettuce, sorrel, parsley, nasturtium leaves, borage, broccoli flowers, and calendula were gathered and our first salad from the garden was available - very early for this time of year.
kumera, pumpkin, spinach in layers with egg and milk in between - salt n pepper, tasty cheese on top layer and topped with pine nuts.
